Chelsey, prepare to meet The Donald.

Chelsey Rodgers
, a Howard law student, was crowned Miss D.C. 2008 at a pageant held at the J.W. Marriott on Saturday night. She won the right to compete next year in the Miss USA pageant (yes, the one backed by Donald Trump).

Rodgers’ victory also turns the tables on Kate Michael, who recently completed her year as Miss D.C. for the Miss America pageant. Michael defeated Rodgers for that crown, but she had to settle for second runner-up this weekend.

“I’m proud of myself for taking on a completely new pageant system, with new rules and new expectations,” said Michael on her blog. “And I said I was going to have a hand in making D.C. a sexy, sophisticated city. … I will.”
