Each week, Yeas & Nays joins Carol Joynt, the host of the Q&A Cafe at Nathans of Georgetown, at various power breakfast spots around the city to see which players are getting their day started with deal-making, networking and glad-handing.

Friday morning at the Four Seasons, we spotted a number of earpiece-wearing Secret Service agents — one atop the stairs, one at the bottom of the stairs, one at the restaurant’s entrance, one inside the restaurant, and soforth.

The reason: Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the prime minister of Denmark, was dining in the back corner. A State Department spokesman told us he had been in New York, and was making a one-day stop in Washington before flying to Crawford, Texas, Friday night to spend the weekend with President Bush.

Elsewhere in the room: former President Clinton Commerce Secretary Mickey Kantor, Georgetown businessman-cum-socialite Bill Dean, and the usual group of investors from Core Capital.
