Jared Pinsky
Churchill, junior
Won his second Montgomery County championship, but — saddled with a sore back — failed to capture his third straight Maryland public school title, falling in three sets in the semifinals to Wilde Lake sophomore David Nguyen. It was the lone loss on the court this season for Pinsky (16-2), who defaulted in the Region II title match. Pinsky is ranked No. 3 in the nation among players 16-and-under.
Coach of the Year
Joe Parish
Northwest
In his first season with the Jaguars, Parish guided Northwest (9-3, 6-1) to a Montgomery County Division II title, as the Jags earned promotion to Division I for the first time in program history. Parish, a 43-year-old computer specialist, has coached tennis in the Rockville Recreation Department as well as at Lakewood Country Club and Quince Orchard Swim and Tennis.
First Team Singles
Will Beck
Bullis, junior
Undefeated in IAC for the second straight year. Won Ben Johns title at No. 1 singles. Took Churchill’s Pinsky to three sets in a loss. Ranked No. 6 in the MATA 18s.
Christopher Goodwin
Rockville, sophomore
Won the Region II championship and was runner up in the Montgomery County and state tournaments. Ranked No. 2 in the Mid-Atlantic 16s.
Zach Nicholson
DeMatha, sophomore
Went from playing No. 4 for the Stags as a freshman to going undefeated and winning the WCAC championship at No. 1. Ranked No. 15 in MATA 18s.
Dan Stahl
Whitman, junior
Went undefeated in regular season. Pushed Pinsky to a third-set tie-breaker in the Region II semifinals. Ranked No. 8 in the Mid-Atlantic 18s.
Andrew Zutz
Bullis, junior
Helped Bulldogs to second straight IAC title as he went 19-0 at No. 2 singles, winning the Ben Johns Tournament. Ranked No. 10 in the MATA 18s.

Doug Silverstein-Casey Fashouer
Bullis, junior/junior
Silverstein, undefeated last year with Chris Seckman at No. 1 doubles, teamed with Fashouer this spring as the duo went 19-0 with a title at the Ben Johns.
Brian Lee-Alvin Fludd
Bullis, junior/freshman
Freshman Fludd, who is ranked No. 16 in the MATA 14s, teamed with Lee at No. 2 doubles and they didn’t lose a set, Going 19-0 and winning Ben Johns.
Jason Luo-Andrew Taylor
Wootton, sophomore/junior
In 2005, Luo was a Montgomery County No. 3 doubles champ while Taylor was runner up at No. 2. This year they went 12-0 and won county title at No. 1.
