Cameron Crowe’s playlist

Nobody knows more about music than Rolling Stone rock critic-turned-filmmaker Cameron Crowe. So when we caught up to him at the Capitol File/Viacom party on Wednesday afternoon, we couldn’t resist asking what he’s listening to these days. He said he was into a lot of ambient music these days, but he hasn’t left rock behind. He said he loves alt-country stars the Drive-By Truckers, and was sorry he didn’t get to see them play the party for Sen. Max Baucus on Tuesday night. He also loves Rufus Wainwright and My Morning Jacket, whom he called one of the best live bands since the Allman Brothers Band.

Crowe is attending his first convention, and said he was excited about Barack Obama’s candidacy.
