Catonsville is heating up

Catonsville (7-3) downed visiting Liberty, 10-4, using a pair of five-run outbursts to come back from an early two-run deficit Tuesday.

“We had several extra-base hits today, and our pitcher had a very strong performance today,” Catonsville head coach Bill Nelson said.

Comets pitcher Amanda Fefel allowed four hits and two earned runs while striking out 10. She also smacked a pair of doubles at the plate.

While missing two starters in the Cavalier Classic last weekend, the Comets defeated North County, before falling to Chesapeake (Anne Arundel).

“Without some key players, a split in that tournament wasn?t a bad thing,” Nelson said.

Catonsville hosts Loch Raven on Thursday at 3:45 p.m.
