Old Mill?s Rodney Stokes and Andrew Engel have signed national letters of intent to play college basketball at Morgan State and New Jersey Institute of Technology, respectively.
Stokes, a forward, averaged 11 points, 9.8 rebounds and five blocks a game for the Patriots last year. He joins Morgan the same year as new head coach Todd Bozeman, who replaced Butch Beard last month.
Engel, a guard and also a standout soccer player, averaged 14.8 points and 4.8 assists for Old Mill, which advanced to the Class 4A state semifinals in 2005 and 2006. Engel joins New Jersey Institute of Technology as it makes its inaugural leap into Division I play.
“Andrew is just an exceptional floor leader and is court sense is simply phenomenal,” Old Mill coach Greg Smith said. “Rodney is the more physical, raw talent, but he still has the ability to score when he needs to.”
