Phipps? sophomore season was stunted by an ankle injury that cost the criminology major the final nine games on the schedule.
He had 15 points, including eight goals in the first eight contests of the season last year.
He has returned this spring with his sights set on making up for lost time. Through 10 games, he has scored a pair of goals and assisted on nine others. His 11 points are sixth on the Terrapins team. He has also grabbed 17 groundballs.
At Severn, Phipps starred on the lacrosse team for three seasons, and ended his career with 41 goals and and 27 assists as a senior.
He was also a standout basketball and soccer player, and scored 51 goals with 32 assists on the soccer field.
Phipps? younger brother, Brian, has committed to play for the Terps next season.
