Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, turned the big 5-0 on Tuesday, but she’s saving the pomp and circumstance for later this summer. Although both her family and staff gave her separate cakes Tuesday, Murkowski has already decided to celebrate the milestone by hiking Alaska ’s 35-mile Chilkoot Trail with her family over the Fourth of July weekend (four other families will join her).
