If Sen. Hillary Clinton’s bid for the presidency of the United States is successful, she’d become the nation’s first female president. And husband Bill (no stranger to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue) would be the first male … first lady? first man? first mate? What exactly should we call him?
Well, Mr. Clinton helped answer that question Saturday at the 2007 Aspen Ideas Festival in Colorado. Clinton said that he’d like to be called “first laddie” instead of “first gentleman” or “first man.”
“I’m hoping that whatever I’m called to do, I still have the time to do what I’m doing now,” he added.
