Andrew Brancaccio
Georgetown Prep, senior, midfielder
First player outside Baltimore area to win Kelly Award, given to the best high school player in Maryland. Had Montgomery County-high 57 goals, leading Prep to its first undefeated season. In IAC final, the 6-5 Brancaccio had five goals as Prep beat Landon, 15-3. In junior year, Brancaccio scored winning goal in OT of IAC final at Landon. Will play at Georgetown.

Kevin Giblin
Georgetown Prep
Guided Little Hoyas to their best season (22-0) in school history, third IAC title in four years, and a No. 1 rank in the nation (laxpower.com). Team out-scored opponents 312-68. Giblin has a 277-66 record (.808 winning percentage) in 19 seasons. Played in Division III final four as a midfielder at Washington College. Second Coach of the Year honor for Giblin in four seasons.

Delaware-bound left-hander had 54 goals to go along with his 18 assists, leading Good Counsel (15-4) to its best season in school history.
George Huguely
Landon, senior, attack
Virginia-bound three-year starter had 41 points this spring, finished career with 87 goals, 49 assists. Also quarterbacked Bears to IAC football title.
Joe Brody
Walter Johnson, senior, attack
Gettysburg-bound All-American had 64 points, beating Churchill and Bethesda-Chevy Chase with overtime goals.
Thomas Langan
Churchill, senior, attack
Limestone-bound Langan tied Wootton’s Sam Burns for Montgomery County public school scoring lead with 68 points. Had 51 goals.
Ricky Hafer
Wootton, junior, midfielder
Faceoff man and quarterback of the Patriots’ offense had 40 goals and 16 assists, helping Patriots to their first 4A/3A West Region championship.
Brian Jackson
Bullis, senior, midfielder
Pennsylvania-bound Jackson was top threat, scoring 28 points on a defensive-minded team. Three-year starter and All-IAC choice.
John Schiavonne
Good Counsel, senior, midfielder
Won 73 percent of his faceoffs in addition to scoring 26 goals and dishing 17 assists. All-WCAC first-team choice will play at Loyola.
Britton Cone
Whitman, senior, defender
The 6-4, 200-pound long stick started four years. This spring the BYU-bound Cone had 100 ground balls, 76 takeaways, six goals and five assists.
Neal Brown
Landon, senior, defender
The 6-1, 190-pound speedster was a versatile force as an All-Interstate Athletic Conference choice and the top defender for the Bears.
Jeremy Hirsch
Georgetown Prep, senior, defender
All-state first team. Only repeat choice from last year’s All-Examiner team. Three-year starter in lacrosse and football. Will play lax at Princeton.
Bray Malphrus
Georgetown Prep, junior, defender
Was one of three underclassmen on all-state first team. Excellent quickness. Keyed a Little Hoyas defense that yielded just 3.1 goals per game.
Brian Tabb
Georgetown Prep, junior, faceoff
Played a huge role in Little Hoyas’ dominance, winning 81 percent of faceoffs and leading Prep in ground balls.
Gavin Buckley
DeMatha, senior, goalie
Player of the Year inWCAC and MVP of conference tournament. Had 23 saves in semifinal win over Good Counsel. Will play at St. John’s.

Pennsylvania-bound, all-state second-team choice stopped 64 percent of the shots he faced including 21 in a pair of victories over arch-rival Landon.
