A host of high-profile ambassadors, including those from Russia, Hungary, Morocco, Ireland and Poland, turned out to the Swedish ambassador’s residence on Monday night to say farewell to Gunnar Lund, who has been Sweden’s representative here for the past two years.
One of the most visible ambassadors around town, Lund has been involved with the Washington Opera and the Innocents at Risk charity, which combats human trafficking. But he told Yeas & Nays that his proudest moment here was the unveiling of the House of Sweden, the country’s massive new embassy on the Georgetown waterfront.
