Blatche responds to All-Star ballot snub, Thorpe comments

Andray Blatche isn’t letting things get him down. He was calm, cool and collected as he was asked this morning about being left off the NBA Eastern Conference All-Star ballot and more.

On the ballot snub: “I don’t pay no attention to that right now. The main focus is us turning our record from a losing record to a winning record. I wouldn’t expect for my name to be on there if we have a losing record and we’re not doing well as a team. Flip the script, if we we’re doing good as a team, and I wasn’t on it, then I would see it as an issue, but I’m not really worried about that. It’s ten games into the season.”

On how he can get to the free throw line more often than he has lately (16 times in the last seven games): “I just gotta continue to find ways to penetrate. Boston had a very great defensive team. They gave baseline, but when they gave baseline, the help was there every time. It’s tough. You’ve got to keep on pushing and keep looking for opportunities on the court.”

On how he fared against Kevin Garnett in Boston: “It was nothing about me going against Garnett, it was about me going against Boston. That’s a great team: a great defensive team and a great offensive team. They scouted us well, and they did their job, and they came out with a win.”

And finally, his reaction to getting crushed by ESPN’s David Thorpe, who called him “the laziest great talent guy in the league”:  “I guess I’m the laziest talent guy in the league. Everybody is entitled to their own opinions. I’m not here to change anybody’s opinions. I’m here to play my game and do my job. If that’s how he feels, that’s how he feels.”
