Versus gets first two Caps – Tampa Bay playoff telecasts

Versus has scored both the local and national coverage of the Washington Capitals and the Tampa Bay Lighting Stanley Cup Eastern Division Semifinal. The Versus game one Friday night at 7p.m. will have the team of Dave Strader, Eddie Olczyk and Joe Micheletti on hand. Sunday’s broadcast crew will be the network’s top team of  Doc Emeric, Eddie Olczyk and Pierre McGuire in place for the 7p.m. puck drop.       

The CSN gang will get back into coverage come game three from Tampa Tuesday night May 3rd at 7p.m.

The network will also present extensive Capitals programming surrounding each second-round contest, led by Capitals Central and Capitals Postgame Live. Capitals Central will air for a half-hour leading up to all six games on Comcast SportsNet and Versus, beginning on Friday, April 29, at 6:30 p.m. Capitals Postgame Live will follow all seven possible second-round games, regardless of which network airs the game. These shows – hosted alternately by Al Koken and Russ Thaler and they will feature analysis from Alan May and a variety of special guests.

On the radio side Friday all afternoon both 106.7FM The Fan and ESPN 980AM will both have plenty of Capitals talk as we lead up to the 6:30pm pregame show on “Flagship”1500AM WFED. Sunday will be a simulcast on both 1500AM and 106.7FM.

Ice Man” Steve Kolbe  will handle the play by play along with his insightful sidekick and analyst Ken Sabourin.

Joining them as always is the duo of Mike Vogel and Jonathan Warner who will handle all the period breaks as well post game show.

NBC SPORTS: Coverage starts this Saturday with Eastern Conference action between the Bruins and the Flyers in Game 1 of their series at 3 p.m.  On Sunday, NBC Sports presents Game 2 of the Western Conference series between the Detroit Red Wings and the San Jose Sharks at 3 p.m.

Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick (play-by-play) and Eddie Olczyk (analyst) anchor NBC Sports’ coverage on Saturday with Pierre McGuire serving as inside-the-glass analyst. NBC’s studio show will feature host Liam McHugh and analyst Mike Milbury. Sunday’s coverage will be helmed by Dave Strader (play-by-play) with Joe Micheletti (analyst) and Darren Pang calling the action from inside-the-glass. McHugh and Milbury will be joined by McGuire in the studio for Sunday’s telecast.
