Kaitlin Duff
Stone Ridge, senior, attack
With extraordinary speed and skills, Duff scored 101 goals and led the Gators in ground balls, draw controls and interceptions. Had seven goals and three assists in ISL semifinal win over Episcopal. Finished career with 253 goals. A three-time All-Examiner and All-Independent School League choice, Duff will play at Virginia.
Coach of the Year
Jill Marks, Stone Ridge
Guided Gators (16-3) to their best season in program history, finishing second to Independent School League powerhouse St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes in the regular season and tournament. When Marks took over the varsity nine years ago, Stone Ridge was in the ISL’s lower division. She also has served as the school’s athletic director the last six years.

Examiner 2005 Player of the Year and two-time Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Player of the Year had 64 goals, 68 assists, and 62 draw controls. Bound for Boston College.
Michele Abbott
Sherwood, sr., attack
Scored 56 goals, dished 24 assists, and snared 74 ground balls, leading Warriors to second straight region championship berth.
Anna Schmidt
Rockville, jr., attack
Had a team-high 74 goals as Rockville went from 6-7 in 2005 to 11-3, its best season in school history.
Ashley Stodter
Good Counsel, jr., attack
All-WCAC choice had 33 assists and a team-high 75 goals, including 14 in three games as the Falcons won their third straight WCAC tournament.
Sammy Allen
Blake, jr., attack
Had 42 goals and 25 assists, including five and three, respectively, as the Bengals beat Sherwood, 15-6, to win their first region championship.
Jacqueline Orona
Poolesville, jr., midfielder
Speedy, athletic force had 63 goals and 24 assists, leading Poolesville to a 12-3 mark and its first region championship berth.
Hayden Solomon
Bullis, sr., midfielder
Speedy, skilled Maryland-bound Solomon had 52 goals, 21 assists, and 47 ground balls. Two-time All-Examiner and three-time All-ISL selection.
Kaitlin Keena
Stone Ridge, jr., midfielder
Had 57 goals, eight assists, providing a potent second-option for Examiner Player of the Year Kaitlin Duff. All-ISL the last two seasons.
Natalie Ellenberger
Quince Orchard, so., midfielder
Repeat first-team choice had 45 goals for second straight year, combining with junior Emily Ellenberger, to give the Cougars a speedy sister duo.
Kiki Manners
Quince Orchard, sr., defender
As a defensive midfielder, keyed Cougars’ potent transition game, scoring team-high 48 goals. Will play soccer at Brown.
Dana McCreary
Holton-Arms, sr., defender
North Carolina-bound McCreary 31 caused turnovers and guarded opponents’ top threat. Stuffed National Cathedral star Lindsay Gilbride in ISL quarterfinal victory.
MacKenzie Costello
Good Counsel, sr., defender
Two-time All-Examiner and All-WCAC choice will play at Virginia Tech. Had 35 ground balls and caused 23 turnovers for three-time WCAC champs.
Chrisi Casey
Holton-Arms, sr., defender
Relentless defender and hustler had 17 goals and 31 ground balls. Made All-Independent School League for the 10-6 Panthers. Will play at Duke.
Lauren Boyle
Damascus, sr., goalie
All-Montgomery County public school first-teamer for fourth straight year. Damascus was 46-9 in her four seasons in goal. Bound for Miami (Fla.).
