Why is the best radio show on Washington baseball coming from Baltimore?

Now that we have two all sports radio stations in Washington who are in full blown Redskins football mode .Where does someone who wants to talk baseball go to find out what is happening to the Nationals or baseball in general?
Each Saturday for the entire year Tom Davis, Dave Johnson and our own Phil Wood are on the air talking baseball from 11a.m. – 2p.m. and it is far and away the best baseball talk show anywhere in the country.
Airing on 105.7 The Fan Baltimore and simulcast on MASN these three veterans meet and talk baseball with callers from North Carolina to New York.
Davis an award winning broadcaster who has over 30 years of covering baseball under his belt along with former Orioles pitcher Dave Johnson and the living baseball encyclopedia the Examiner’s own Phil Wood talk about all aspects of the sport without ever yelling, talking in a demeaning way to their many callers or over hyping things.
There is no disrespecting Nationals fans in favor of the Orioles this is a baseball show that is for every fan to listen to on 105.7FM The Fan Baltimore or watch on MASN and enjoy baseball talked about on its highest level.
Which brings me to why is it that we have two full time all sports stations in Washington and no regular Saturday morning baseball show?
Nationals fans seem to be able to call in large numbers the Baltimore show so perhaps you might wish to understand that baseball is a 24/7/365 sport and you are losing fans to 105.7FM and MASN.
I am not talking about the fine pregame and postgame job that is done by the WFED Nationals radio network. They are both entertaining and informative. I am talking about the dedication to the Nationals in Washington and baseball that the market both deserves and wants.
I know some will say there is no ratings for it and I say you can’t cultivate a fan base without trying.
Virginia is a huge state and it is prime territory for Nationals fans. Both ESPN 980AM along with 106.7FM The Fan D.C. can serve and educate fans in Virginia about the Nationals while at the same time build on the local fan base.
It would however require them to talk about something other than Redskins football for say two hours a week. I guess that is too much to ask or is one of the Washington sports talkers going to step up and talk baseball?
Hopefully we will see if they can find a moment in between talking about Skins should be running the “wildcat offense.”
Look I love football but there has to be some room for a regular Saturday morning baseball show somewhere.
Meanwhile I will watch Davis, Johnson and Woods on MASN or listen to 105.7FM The Fan Baltimore.
