The first day of October brought a crowd and the bold-facers didn’t disappoint. At a discreet table along the far wall, Atlantic Media’s David Bradley joined former Discovery Network President Bill Campbell for a breakfast of champions.
Venture capitalist Mark Ein broke bread with David Steinberg, the former CEO of InPhonic, who sauntered into the restaurant wearing the fashionable Big Dog mufti of no tie, jeans and a blazer. He was quickly flagged by another table of casually attired rich boys, Core Capital Partners chief honchos Jonathan Silver, Mark Levine, Tom Wheeler and William Dunbar, who ribbed him about his decidedly non-boardroom threads. He shot back, “I’m not a CEO anymore!”
Other notables included Peter Shechter (of Chlopak, Leonard, Schecter and Associates; also a investor in Zatinya, among other restaurants) and his wife, Rosa, sharing the morning meal with a visitor from Switzerland; and breakfast regular, lobbyist Juleanna Glover Weiss. Quiet and intense over business breakfast a deux was Bill Dean, the young, rich man-about-town owner and president of M.C. Dean Inc.
