Suzann Pettersen » The 30-year-old Norwegian has seven LPGA wins since 2007 but has underachieved in majors. Pettersen, the No. 3 player in the world, won the 2007 LPGA Championship at Bulle Rock but has four runner-up finishes in majors, including last year to Creamer.
Cristie Kerr » The 2007 U.S. Open champ has five top-10s in this tournament. Her 14 LPGA victories include two major championships. Her last win came at the 2010 LPGA Championship. She’s still ranked No. 2 despite some recent putting woes.
Jiyai Shin » The 23-year-old leads four Koreans ranked fourth through seventh. The others are Na Yeon Choi, Sun Ju Ahn and I.K. Kim. Shin is the only one with a major championship, the 2008 British Women’s Open.
Michelle Wie » Will she ever live up to her enormous potential? After six finishes in the top-five in majors before she reached age 17, Wie has finished no better than sixth in her last 14 major starts. She won LPGA events in 2009 and 2010 and has four top 10s this year.
Paula Creamer » The defending U.S. Women’s Open champion hasn’t won since her breakthrough last year at Oakmont. But her game is rounding into form with top-five finishes in three of her last four events. The 24-year-old ranks No. 2 in greens in regulation.
