Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. was feeling pretty lucky after winning $333,333 in Las Vegas betting on the BCS title game. Shortly after, he took to Twitter to challenge Manny Pacquiao.
“Manny Pacquiao I’m calling you out let’s fight May 5th and give the world what they want to see,” he tweeted.
It’s about time. A fight between Mayweather and fellow welterweight champion Pacquiao has been one of the most anticipated fights ever. And Mayweather has been the one saying he doesn’t need to beat Pacquiao to solidify his greatness.
Apparently, Mayweather wants to go to jail in style. It would likely be the richest fight in history, and he appears eager to face Pacquiao before going behind bars in June to serve a 90-day sentence for domestic violence and harassment charges.
His follow-up tweet read, “Step up Punk.”
Pacquiao has not responded, although he has said he’d fight Mayweather on several occasions, even agreeing to a winner-takes-all fight on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
