The last inning for Bush’s T-ball

Early in his administration, and with great fanfare, President Bush began a new White House tradition: T-ball in a makeshift field on the South Lawn. There’s no telling whether a President McCain or President Obama will continue the games, but on Sunday, President Bush presided over his final inning.

Helping him out were Rascal Flatts, who sang the national anthem; Gen. Peter Pace, who coached third base; Yankee great Bernie Williams, who coached first base and led the singing of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”; and “Fox and Friends” host Brian Kilmeade and Fox Sports color man Tim McCarver, who provided the play-by-play.

The players were children of active-duty military personnel.
