Bimbo back on Baltimore bandwagon?

Maybe it?s because the Ravens have lost seven straight games, or maybe it?s because the Dolphins are just that bad. But for whatever reason, this is clear: Bimbo is ready to give the Ravens a second chance.

After picking against the team she watches on television with her monkey friends in each of the past three weeks, Bimbo predicts the Ravens will end the worst losing streak in franchise history by beating winless Miami on Sunday.

“[Earlier in the season] she picked the Ravens thinking they?d be winners, but they let her down,” said Colleen Layton-Robbins, Bimbo?s owner who runs Frisky?s Wildlife and Primate Sanctuary in Woodstock. “Hopefully, they are over their struggles so they can help her out.”

But Bimbo doesn?t need much help. She went 12-4 last week, but considering her four opponents ? coaches who each led their high school football teams to state championship games ? missed a combined seven games, she finished in fifth. Dunbar?s Lawrence Smith and River Hill?s Brian Van Deusen, who each guided their football teams to state titles to culminate 14-0 seasons, almost were perfect picking games.

Van Deusen?s only blemish was selecting the Buccaneers to beat the Texans, and Smith?s mistake was taking the Falcons over the Saints. Arundel?s Chuck Markiwewicz went 14-2, and Hereford?s Steve Turnbaugh was 13-3.

However, Bimbo?s record this season is 129-79, which makes her an All-Star in our eyes. So this week, we?re having The Examiner?s pigskin-picking princess go one-on-one with another all-star: Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts.
