Will we see Beckham tonight?

The night begins at 7pm with “SportsCenter,” hyping the game, then comes a one-hour special, “David Beckham: New Beginnings” starts at 7:30 p.m., with a half-hour pregame hosted by Rob Stone and Julie Foudy set for 8:30 p.m. with kickoff around 9pm.

is America ’s team as they just signed a multi year deal with Disney to be the official soccer team for Disney’s Wide World of Sports.

Meanwhile at the British Open it is good to see Sergio Garcia poised to take his first major. Nice job done by TNT and now the folks at ABC are doing what they do best, letting the golf tell the story.

Line of the day came from TNT’s Bobby Clampett on Sergio Garcia’s confidence:  “I think the belly-putter is kind of a band-aid. It’s the second week out (of Garcia using it) and where is the confidence? You’ve got to have a lot of confidence to win a major championship.”
