Jason Alexander makes pitch for Warner

Serenity Now!

Seinfeld” may be in reruns, but Jason Alexander is still milking the show’s laugh lines — even for political purposes. Witness the email he sent out on behalf of Virginia Senate candidate Mark Warner.

“If you thought Seinfeld was a show about nothing, you should check out Congress,” writes Alexander. “I can’t remember such a lack of productivity since the summer of George.”

Alexander is pitching in to help the Warner camp reach its goal of 21,000 donors before Sept. 30, the close of the current filing period. “Please Donate $5 Before Midnight on September 30th,” writes Alexander, “… and then enjoy serenity now.”

A Warner spokesman said the two met in 2006, when Warner was considering a run for president, and Alexander “became a fan” of the then-governor.
