End of 3rd: Cowboys 14, Redskins 0

1st Qtr | 2nd Qtr | 3rd Qtr | Game story

» OK, so Albert showed up on the first series of the third quarter, with two excellent stops in short yardage situations. He completely blew up two plays by using his muscle to get penetration. On the fourth down snap, he looked like he was 2 yards deep.

» Jay Ratliff vs. Will Montgomery is called one thing: a mismatch.

» Quinton Ganther did a good job helping in protection, giving Campbell enough time to find Malcolm Kelly for a nine-yard gain and first down. Ganther is inconsistent in protection, but he does block with force.

» The Redskins almost always need to keep tight ends in to block if they want to help Campbell. When they don’t, Dallas is killing him. There was no one to pick up the corner blitz and Campbell did not see that it was coming. In this case, it could have been that Campbell must pick him up and get rid of the ball faster.

» The Redskins just can’t block this front with this group. Simple as that. So give them more help. Yes, it’s hard to keep extra guys in all the time. Might be even harder to keep scraping Campbell off the ground.

» Seems like whenever Washington uses its two-deep, the Cowboys hurt them on the ground. They’re not the first team to exploit this strategy.

» At least the Redskins can stop them on fourth down tonight. This time, the left side of the defensive line got some penetration and allowed H.B. Blades to make the tackle.

» Dallas is hurting itself with drops.

» Say what you want about Stephon Heyer – and I often have – but he plays hurt all the time.
