Snake-bit Navy once had a 25-20-1 edge in the series, but since 1975, the Blue Jays have beaten the Mids 36 straight times, with seven of the last 13 decided by one goal. This year, both have NCAA tournament streaks in jeopardy. Navy (5-7), which has gone six straight years, must win the Patriot League tournament. Hopkins (5-6), with 38 straight trips, needs to beat in-state rivals Navy, Towson and Loyola.

In the ESPN Warrior Classic, GU (7-4) and UMass (7-4) look to rebound from bad losses. The Minutemen, ranked before losses to Towson and Delaware, are led by 5-7 freshman attack Will Manny (22 goals, 14 assists). The UMass slump has corresponded with the loss of attack Art Kell (21 goals, 12 assists) to a foot injury. GU has beaten UMass four straight years, and leads the series 7-3.

With five straight wins, Loyola (8-2) has vaulted into the rankings. Hobart (2-9), averaging 7.5 goals per game, will be hard-pressed to score against defensive-minded Loyola, led by faceoff man John Schiavone (60 percent), defenseman Steve Layne (29 ground balls) and goalie Jake Hagelin, who is first in the NCAA in goals against average (6.7). The Greyhounds lead the series 9-3.

Towson (5-5, 3-0) is the only team without a loss in the Colonial Athletic Association and can clinch the top seed in the CAA tournament with a win over Penn State (2-9, 1-2). Both teams are coming off big victories. Towson toppled Drexel, 8-7, behind Christian Pastirik (5 assists), while PSU stunned Hofstra, 11-10 in OT, as Nick Dolik scored the game winner and Joe Britt won 13 of 17 faceoffs.
