The large ticket revenue from NFL team’s four preseason games is too much for owners to just get rid of the exhibitions, but an 18-game regular season is being discussed.
The scheduling changes wouldn’t be adapted until 2012 at the earliest. It would eliminate half of the NFL’s preseason games, but also increase the injury risk and fatigue for players.
There’s not a perfect system, but at least the NFL is discussing change. For now, enjoy the most worrisome month in football.
