Rock ‘n’ roll
Washington is adding another notch to its reality TV belt.
Rahman “Rock” Harper, executive chef of B. Smith’s in Union Station, has made it past the first cut on Fox’s “Hell’s Kitchen,” the show where aspiring culinary stars whip up hollandaise, sear fresh fish and bake bread, all while enduring scathing verbal abuse from London-based chef Gordon Ramsay.
And the restaurant is behind him.
“How many times have you secretly wanted to tell Chef Rock to go to hell?” asks an invite that restaurant Vice President Tom Townsend sent out. “On Mondays at 9, watch him take our advice.”
“Come in and show some support for our fearless chef,” the invite continues. “I think he might need it. During the show we will offer half price drinks at the bar.”
That ought to deaden the pain that Ramsaydoles out.
