» More missed tackles on the first play, looked like Carlos Rogers and London Fletcher.
» Rogers continues to get beat by double moves, this time a stutter step and go by Brandon Marshall. One reason Rogers played well last year in the first 8-10 games is that he did not get beat by that move as much. But going back to the end of last season, that has been an issue with him.
» The Redskins’ offense answered with an excellent drive. Not a lot of I-formation; more three-receiver sets and some good play calls.
» Jason Campbell did a nice job on a swing pass to the left to Ladell Betts. Was patient on the throw and allowed Betts to get a little separation from Brian Dawkins. It made the difference on this third-down throw.
» I love the motion of the offense, which is one thing that worked well in the second half vs. Atlanta. On the touchdown, they had Antwaan Randle El run as if he was going to get a reverse going to the left. That enabled the Redskins to then run a boot and flood the end zone. Rock Cartwright ran to the corner; Todd Yoder stayed inside and Malcolm Ke
» Jason Campbell missed Devin Thomas at the end zone, but otherwise did a nice job on this drive. The other pass that was nearly intercepted was a screen pass that Denver LB Robert Ayers nearly intercepted. But my first impression is that someone should have cut him on that play. Can’t believe he came in free on that play.
» Fred Smoot is in at corner for Rogers. Can’t say I blame them; Rogers has not played well this season. He’s in his final eight games for Washington.
» Nice job by Lorenzo Alexander getting back into the play on the Correll Buckhalter fumble. These linemen do a good job of that. But it’s concerning how much yardage Denver is getting off the edges.
» Good lord the secondary is having a rough day. It’s impossible to know the coverage but the replay showed LaRon Landry jumping an underneath route while DeAngelo Hall gave Brandon Marshall up deep, clearly anticipating safety help.
» Jason Campbell had Fred Davis wide open on a third and four late, but missed him wide. It hit off Davis’ hands, but that was a bad throw.
» The Redskins’ pass defense will not be ranked No. 1 after today. And they won’t get back there, not with the quarterbacks they have coming up.
