Boys Performer of the Year
Sean Holston

Things didn’t go quite as planned at the Group AAA state meet in Newport News. But Holston still has one more year to rectify that. For now, he can be content as the top sprinter in Northern Virginia. Holston emphatically drove that point home with an outstanding Northern Region meet, sweeping the sprint events. He finished first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.99 and followed that effort by winning the 200 in a time of 21.90. Wineglass, whose mark at the Southern Track Classic was the best of any athlete in the Washington, D.C. area, won the region triple jump title with a leap of 37-11. She followed that by winning the 200 (25.79) and placing third in the 400. Wineglass took third in the triple jump at the Group AAA state meet in Newport News (38-09.50).
