Much to the chagrin of House Ways and Means Chairman Charlie Rangel, bipartisanship in the Senate seems to trump Democratic loyalty between chambers.
Speaking at a post-State of the Union breakfast sponsored by Atlantic Media, Rangel said the reason the House might have to accept the Senate’s version of the economic stimulus package is that “Mr. Baucus likes Mr. Grassley better than he likes me.”

He was referring to the chairman and ranking member, respectively, of the Senate Finance Committee. “What they put in the Senate water I don’t understand,” he added.
