Redskins win the TV ratings battle – lose the game

The Redskins loss to the Giants on ESPN Monday Night Football might have been a disaster on the field. OK it was definitely a disaster on the field – however it scored big in primetime here in Washington.

In Washington D.C., the game delivered a 16.53 rtg on ESPN and a 6.86 rtg on WDCA-MNT, for a combined 23.4 rating in the market.

In the Big Apple not a bad night for football either.

In New York, the game delivered a 9.03 rtg on ESPN and a 3.93 rtg on WWOR-MNT, for a combined 13.0 rating in the market.

Kudos to the CSN team of Chick Hernandez, Keli Johnson, Antonio Freeman and Trevor Matich for a solid post game show after the 45-12 loss.

By the way it seems the only person not to think Mike Shanahan is coming to coach the Redskins at this point is Jim Zorn.
