Mickelson — the eagles have landed

Good call by Jim Nantz as Phil Mickelson stood on the 13th tee, Nantz saying that it was Lefty’s favorite hole.

So what does Mickelson do? He eagles it, making a 10-footer on the par 5. Then on the next hole, Mickelson does it again, making an eagle on the extremely difficult 14th, holing his 9-iron from 139 yards out. Mickelson’s approach landed six feet left of the hole and rolled in on the severely-sloped green. It is the first time in Masters’ history that a player has made consecutive eagles.

The strokes of genius have reduced Lee Westwood’s advantage over Mickelson from five strokes to none. Stay tuned.
