On Friday, June 4, 2010, the American Civil Liberties Union asked a federal judge to dismiss its lawsuit against the Mississippi Department of Corrections over conditions at the maximum security Unit 32 on the Parchman campus, after having reached a proposed agreement with the MDOC to shutter the facility at the state penitentiary.
