This undated photo obtained by The Associated Press, used in an exhibit filed in the Supreme Court case, shows the front of a bottle of Minute Maid Pomegranate Blueberry beverage. The Supreme Court on Thursday sided with juice maker Pom Wonderful in its long-running false advertising dispute with Coca Cola, a decision that could open the door to more litigation against food makers for deceptive labeling. The justices ruled 8-0 that Pom can go forward with a lawsuit alleging the label on a "Pomegranate Blueberry" beverage offered by Coke's Minute Maid unit is misleading because 99 percent of the drink consists of apple and grape juice. The Food and Drug Administration tried a sneak attack on the artisan cheese industry earlier this week, pushing a new rule, pretending it wasn't a new rule, that would outlaw the aging of cheese on wooden board. The FDA has backed down from this new-not-new rule-not-rule. (Thinkstock Image) Beltway Confidential

Ray Gaesser talks about cover crops in a bean field on his farm, Wednesday, June 11, 2014, near Corning, Iowa. U.S. companies relying on farmers for the raw materials in their products must take a more active role in ensuring the crops are grown in a way that minimizes damage to water, soil, and environment, a new report released Wednesday said. Gaesser, who farms 6,000 acres of corn and soybeans, said most farmers are willing to adopt new measures if they are shown to be beneficial to the land and water and do not reduce productivity. FILE - This Sept. 10, 2010 file photo shows the seafood counter in Whole Foods is shown in Hillsboro, Ore. The government is reminding pregnant women to stay away from certain fish that can be high in mercury. But the agency won't require package labeling on mercury content, which is what consumer groups had sought. The draft advice issued Tuesday by the Food and Drug Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency is unlikely to clear up confusion over exactly what seafood pregnant women and young children should eat and what they should avoid. Consumer groups have sued the agency, saying its warnings haven't been clear enough about what fish could pose a risk. (AP Photo/Rick Bowmer, File) Business
