Whitefish shortage causing Passover meal problems

This undated handout photo provided by Ohio State University shows an all purpose voodoo doll. A quick candy bar may stave off more than hunger. It could prevent major fights between husbands and wives, at least if a new study involving voodoo dolls is right. Psychology researchers monitored the nightly blood sugar levels of 107 married couples for three weeks, asking them to stick pins in a voodoo doll representing their spouses to measure aggression. They found that the lower the blood sugars, the higher the crankiness, and the more pins pushed into the voodoo doll, according to a study released Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The people with the lowest glucose scores pushed twice in general as many pins on average as those with the highest blood sugar levels, the researchers said. FILE - This Aug. 11, 2009, file photo, shows a chicken breast sandwich and water from Subway on a kitchen counter in New York. Subway says an ingredient dubbed the "yoga mat" chemical will be entirely phased out of its bread by the week of April 14, 2014. The disclosure comes as Subway has suffered from an onslaught of bad publicity since a food blogger petitioned the chain to remove the ingredient. (AP Photo/Seth Wenig, File) Business

This photo taken Nov. 25, 2013 shows microbiologist Dr. Molly Freeman pulling Listeria bacteria from a tube to be tested for its DNA fingerprinting in a foodborne disease outbreak lab at the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. The nation's disease detectives are beginning a program to try to outsmart outbreaks by routinely decoding the DNA of deadly bacteria and viruses. The initial target: Listeria, a kind of bacteria that's the third-leading cause of death from food poisoning, and one that's especially dangerous to pregnant women. Already, the technology has helped to solve a small listeria outbreak that killed one person in California and sickened seven others in Maryland.(AP Photo/David Goldman) Healthcare
