FILE - In this Jan. 24, 2014 photo, a snowy owl rests on a ledge of a building in Washington. The National Zoo in Washington says that a snowy owl was apparently hit by a bus and is being treated at the Zoo. Zoo spokeswoman Annalisa Meyer says the owl was brought to the zoo shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014. A veterinarian was called in to treat the owl for an apparent head injury. It will then be transferred to a city rehabilitation facility. Snowy owls aren't usually seen in the region, but have been moving far south of their Arctic habitats searching for food due to a population spike. It's uncertain if this is the injured owl.
