State Department official: ‘Serious’ gaps in Iran nuclear talks

Justin Green · September 27, 2014 2:40 pm
Iran's President Hassan Rouhani speaks during a news conference in New York on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014. In his wide-ranging speech to the U.N. General Assembly on Thursday, Rouhani warned that Islamic terrorists were creating chaos in the Mideast to destroy civilization and generate anti-Muslim hatred, saying they wanted to create "a fertile ground for further intervention of foreign forces in our region." He also said a nuclear agreement was possible before the November deadline if the West wants a deal and shows flexibility. (AP Photo/Bebeto Matthews) National Security

Building a strong missile defense is challenging, but it's not optional. The technology needed to build a long-range, intercontinental ballistic missile was once far out of reach for all but the most highly developed countries. Today, the regimes most hostile to the U.S. are arming up. (iStock Photo) National Security

UN report confirms nuke probe of Iran stalled

George Jahn · September 5, 2014 5:18 pm
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani gives a press conference in Tehran, Iran, Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014. Rouhani called Western sanctions an "invasion" on Saturday after Washington imposed existing sanctions on more than 25 businesses, banks and individuals suspected of working to expand Iran's nuclear program, support terrorism and help Iran evade U.S. and international sanctions. Iran's state TV also said the move violated an interim agreement reached with world powers under which Western nations agreed to ease sanctions in exchange for Iran curbing its nuclear activities. However, Friday's action did not constitute an expansion of the sanctions regime. National Security
