Bottles of Polish cider sit on a shelf in a small store in Warsaw, Poland, on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014. A Russian ban on European food imports has sparked a debate in Poland over whether to allow advertising cider. The country is a major global apple exporter and had previously sent half its output to Russia. With officials scrambling to help apple producers, the Economy Ministry says it wants to lift a ban on advertising any alcohol other than beer. That has put it at odds with health advocates and the Health Ministry, which oppose encouraging greater alcohol consumption in a country where some people already drink too much. People light candles at the Warsaw Uprising monument in Warsaw, Friday, Aug. 1, 2014. On the 70th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, Poland is honoring the fighters and victims of the rebellion against Nazi Germans by laying wreaths, sounding sirens and singing insurgent tunes. On Aug. 1, 1944, thousands of poorly-armed city residents rose up against the German forces to try to take control of the city ahead of the advancing Soviet army. They held on for 63 days before being forced to surrender. Almost 200,000 people were killed. The Nazis expelled the survivors and set the city ablaze. (AP Photo/ Czarek Sokolowski)

In this photo taken in Warsaw, Poland, Tuesday, July 8, 2014, Kazimierz Mikos, 84, shows buildings in Sienna street where in the 1944 Warsaw Rising he had his insurgent lodgings. As a 14-year-old boy Mikos was a guard and messenger in Warsaw’s struggle against the occupying Nazi Germans. He will be among hundreds of fighters attending the ceremonies of the 70th anniversary of the ill-fated struggle that led to the destruction of some 30 percent of the city’s substance and the loss of some 200,000 lives.
