This April 19, 2019 file photo shows Columbine High School, seen from from Rebel Hill, which stands over the memorial for the victims of the massacre at the school nearly 20 years ago Friday, April 19, 2019, in Littleton, Colo. The Jefferson County School District has abandoned a proposal to demolish Columbine and replace it after a community survey showed strong opposition to the idea. In a letter Wednesday, July 24, 2019, Jefferson County Schools Superintendent Jason Glass says the survey suggests there isn’t community support to rebuild the school. The district floated Columbine’s demolition because of what Glass had called its "inspiration" for people with a dark interest in the 1999 shooting that killed 12 students and a teacher.
