Sen. Bernie Sanders, who nearly became the Democrats’ 2016 presidential nominee, says he’s not sure yet if he’ll run again in 2020.
“As of this moment, no,” Sanders, I-Vt., told CNN Tuesday when asked if he’s set his plans yet either way.

Trump “has no political belief,” says @BernieSanders.
“He is doing what no president in modern history has done and really trying to divide the American people up based on the color of our skin or country we came from or religion or sexual orientation. That is outrageous.” pic.twitter.com/3ZqQpCiQVx

“I’ve got to know that the issues that I feel strongly about — income and wealth inequality, a corrupt campaign finance system, the fact that our middle class continues to shrink, the greed of Wall Street and of the pharmaceutical industry who will rip us off every day with the highest prices in the world for drugs — are those resonating with the American people?” Sanders said.
“I’m not quite sure,” Sanders added. “I think they do, but you know, we’ve got a little bit more work to do.”
Sanders noted that Americans just came out of the midterm elections, and said he wants to give people a chance to catch their breath before being thrown back into another election.
Sanders won 13.2 million votes in the Democratic primaries in 2016, a close second place to Hillary Clinton’s 16.9 million votes. Most observers put him high on the list of candidates who could win the nomination in 2020.
