The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority General Manager Randy Clarke announced that Metro will be rolling out new Smart Trip cards and merchandise ahead of America 250 on Wednesday.
Clarke posted a photo on X of the new Smart Trip card. It features a ribbon that appears to be wrapping around the front of the card. The ribbon is striped in red, white, and blue.

The card also has two iridescent stars intersecting with the striped ribbon on the left side.
Clarke said the limited edition merchandise will celebrate 50 years of Metro.

Clarke teased that the cards and special items will be “dropping soon.”
