“Undecided” is the leading 2020 presidential choice for Democratic primary and caucus voters, the latest indication that none of the estimated 25 candidates eyeing the race are moving to the front.
The latest Zogby Poll showed former Vice President Joe Biden falling back from his lead in May to a virtual tie with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. In May, Biden led Sanders 26 percent to 18 percent. In June, it was 21 percent to 19 percent.
Undecided voters who picked “Not Sure” in the Zogby poll went from 22 percent in May to 29 percent in June.

The lack of a strong frontrunner is a positive for President Trump whose base has largely stuck with him. And in the face of a divided Democratic Party, he is poised to be reelected, suggested the Zogby poll.
“At this point a heated 2020 Democratic primary might help an incumbent President Trump. If he is able to avoid a recession he will be tough to beat as an incumbent, even against heavy weights like Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders. Both have polled very well against Trump, but based on the 2016 results, Trump could beat both, no matter what the polls say,” said the poll.
As for the Democrats, Zogby noted the large percentage of voters still searching for a winner.

“With about two years until the Democratic nominee is decided, it’s looking like a dog fight between the two establishment candidates, Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden. As of right now, both still have to entice a third of the democratic electorate, who remain undecided,” said the poll analysis.
“Is there still enough time for someone new to emerge. Could that be [Sen.] Kamala Harris or [Sen.] Cory Booker? Maybe it’s Michael Bloomberg,” added Zogby.
Actually, the poll found that TV’s Oprah Winfrey remains the third choice of Democrats, despite her statements that she doesn’t want to run.
