WATCH: House votes on Trump impeachment

The House of Representatives is voting on impeaching President Trump on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress on Wednesday and will begin debating the articles at 9 a.m. EST.

The vote is expected to be nearly along party lines with Democrats having enough votes to impeach the president. A number of centrist Democrats in swing districts have announced their intention to vote to impeach after two members of the party broke away during the initial resolution in October. One Democrat has signaled his intention to vote for only one article of impeachment.

This is just the third time the House will vote on impeaching a president. The first two instances came during Andrew Johnson’s and Bill Clinton’s presidencies. Both were impeached in the House; however, neither were removed from office via a Senate conviction.
