Charges pending against black man who posted pro-Black Lives Matter photo of himself kneeling on white baby’s neck

A man police believe is responsible for kneeling on a baby’s neck while posing for a picture posted on social media with a pro-Black Lives Matter message is in custody.

Isaiah Jackson, a 20-year-old black man, is believed to be responsible for kneeling on the white baby’s neck in a social media post that went viral earlier this week. He was booked for a probation violation, and further felony charges are currently pending, according to WHIO-TV 7.

The case against Jackson, who has an extensive criminal record, has been presented to the prosecutor’s office, which will in turn “provide a determination on the scope and breadth of the felony charges” he will face, according to Lt. Kristopher Shultz of Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

An investigation was launched Tuesday after the social media post, which was captioned, “Blm now mf,” and presumably stood for “Black Lives Matter now motherf—er,” and the post, in which the baby appeared to be crying, was shared with law enforcement in Clark County, Ohio.

Police say the child was taken to a local hospital but did not suffer any injuries from the incident, and the mother says she was unaware of what was transpiring at the time the picture was taken.

“Subsequent interview with the mother revealed that she was unaware of the photo having been taken, or its contents, until she had been informed by other parties,” Shultz said.
