Reagan biographer rips Trump’s claim he’s better

Please.

That was presidential biographer Craig Shirley’s reaction to President Trump’s claim that he is better than Ronald Reagan, and likely the greatest president ever.

“It remains to be seen how Trump changes the GOP but so far his record more closely resembles Richard Nixon’s than Ronald Reagan’s,” said Shirley, author of four Reagan biographies, including the revealing Last Act about the Gipper’s final days.

In the new book Trump’s Enemies by Trump advisers Corey R. Lewandowski and David N. Bossie, the president said that he doesn’t get credit for his achievements and said if his name was different, “they would say I’m the greatest president in history and I blow Ronald Reagan away.”

His bragging angered the legions of Reagan fans, none more so than Shirley who said it is way too early to compare presidents or judge Reagan.

“Neither Donald Trump nor anyone else can pass judgment on his place in history. Not yet. It took 150 years for a decent biography to be written about Andrew Jackson, Arthur Schlesinger’s, The Age of Jackson. Also, Trump is still in his first term and we don’t even know if he will be re-elected,” said Shirley.
