Enough: Liz Cheney demands GOP stop defending Trump ‘lies’

Frustrated by her party’s tightening embrace of former President Donald Trump, Rep. Liz Cheney late Tuesday called for a breakup over the Jan. 6 riots and Trump’s “lies” about election fraud, describing it as a public duty.

In a speech before a New Hampshire audience, the embattled Wyoming lawmaker said, “Will we stand for truth? Will we put duty to our oath above partisan politics? Or will we look away from the danger, ignore the threat, embrace the lies and enable the liar? There is no gray area when it comes to that question. When it comes to this moment, there is no middle ground.”
