Washington Examiner and Vallourec Star hosted an informative event discussing Youngstown’s economic revival through innovations in advanced manufacturing, 3D printing, curriculum and business growth, investments in infrastructure, and more.
Co-hosted by Washington Examiner, Youngstown State University, and Youngstown Business Incubator, Examining Youngstown brought Washington to Northeast Ohio, highlighting the innovations that the area has made through advanced manufacturing and economic development investments like America Makes, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute, job growth, and more.
The three panels included local government officials, university staff, Youngstown Business Incubator, and industry experts.
Panel Two included moderator Salena Zito, plus Stephanie Gaffney, Youngstown Business Incubator; Dr. Brett Conner, Freshmade 3D, YSU; Zac DiVancenzo, Juggerbot 3D Printing; and Patrick Kiraly, sourcing manager, Vallourec Star.
Panel Three included Sarah Boyarko, Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce; Capri Cafaro, former state senator from Ohio, minority leader; Sara Daugherty, Eastgate Regional Council of Governments, economic development program manager; Brigham McCown, GAIN adviser, former PHMSA head; plus closing remarks by Ohio State Sen. Joe Schiavoni.
