President Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, is set to deliver a press conference in Minneapolis on Thursday morning, days after the president deployed him to the city following the second deadly shooting by federal immigration officers in a month.
Homan met with local and state leaders, including Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, and law enforcement officials, on Tuesday, following weeks of tension in Minneapolis after federal immigration officers shot and killed two anti-ICE protesters, hailing the talks as a “productive starting point.”

“We all agree that we need to support our law enforcement officers and get criminals off the streets. While we don’t agree on everything, these meetings were a productive starting point and I look forward to more conversations with key stakeholders in the days ahead,” Homan wrote on Tuesday.
Homan is set to speak at 8 a.m.
