Border czar Tom Homan is set to hold a press conference in Minneapolis on Thursday at 9 a.m. Eastern.
Thursday marks Homan’s third press conference since President Donald Trump tasked him with leading Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in Minneapolis.
WHITE HOUSE DENIES TRUMP IS GIVING UP ON CONGRESS TO PUSH HIS AGENDA
During last week’s press conference, Homan announced that 700 of the nearly 3,000 federal immigration officers in Minnesota would be leaving the state to meet the demands of local Democratic leaders. In return, the Trump administration is seeking Minnesota leaders to end “sanctuary” policies by requiring local law enforcement to cooperate more closely with federal immigration authorities.
Homan stepped into the role after Greg Bovino, former commander-at-large of Border Patrol, was demoted after two Minneapolis anti-ICE activists, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, were killed in confrontations with law enforcement officers last month.
