Report: Washington property taxes about average in nationwide comparison

Washington homeowners are about in the middle of the pack when it comes to how high their property taxes are when compared to the rest of the country, a new report by the personal finance website WalletHub shows.

Iowa ties with Oregon for the 22nd-highest property taxes in the U.S., according to the report – 2020’s Property Taxes by State. The annual tax on a $205,000 home, the median home value in the U.S. in 2018, is an estimated $2,065 in Iowa.
