Michael Avenatti, the lawyer to porn star Stormy Daniels, is attending an Iowa Democratic event next month, another sign that he is seriously considering a 2020 presidential election run.
“I look forward to speaking at the Iowa State Democratic Wing Ding next month. Extremely honored to be included as one of the speakers. It promises to be a great event as always! #Basta #FightClub,” Avenatti tweeted Thursday morning.

The “Basta” hashtag — which is Spanish for “enough” — is one Avenatti commonly uses when tweeting about President Trump. His client, Stormy Daniels, claims to have had an extramarital affair with Trump more than a decade ago and has sued to get out of a related non-disclosure agreement.
Avenatti has seen a surge in popularity this year, amid a flurry of appearances on CNN and MSNBC. Earlier this month, he teased a presidential bid with a tweet that said “I will run” if Trump seeks re-election in 2020, adding, “but only if I think that there is no other candidate in the race that has a REAL chance at beating him.”
Also appearing at the Iowa State Democratic Wing Ding, a fundraiser attended by past presidential candidates in the state that holds its primaries first, are early 2020 presidential hopefuls Rep. John Delaney of Maryland and Andrew Yang.
Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, who according to the Intercept this week is telling people he will run for president in 2020, will also be in attendance at the Aug. 10 event in Clear Lake.
